Andrew is an ecological designer and inventor, project manager and public speaker. As founder of Compost Central, and the inventor and co-founder of Subpod, the globally renowned in-ground compost system, Andrew has made it his mission to solve some of the world’s biggest food waste problems with intelligent, in-situ compost design.

With over 40 years experience in sustainable home, garden, and compost design, and having consulted commercially over the past decade, Andrew brings a wealth of functional design and experience to his creation of WastePlant. Andrew works closely and effectively with Architects, Builders and commercial clients.

Andrew’s dream is to see composting and soil education made a part of everyday life. Andrew resides in Byron Bay Australia, and designs and consults for projects internationally.

Xuan Wang

WastePlant — Co-Founder (2024 to Present)

Xuan is an entrepreneur, researcher, social change maker and mother of 3 children. She holds two psychology degrees from China and Australia. She has extensive and diverse experience in leadership development, workshop facilitation, human-centred design, fundraising, not-for-profit and circular economy.

Xuan founded City Compost Network to create a culture in which composting and food waste recycling is the most natural and easy thing to do through publishing podcasts and co-designing community compost programs.

Xuan's commitment is to transform humble food waste into universally accessible tools to build resilience in our soil and community. She sees joining Wasteplant consulting as an extraordinary opportunity to create the 'new normal' of regenerative and efficient urban food systems for future generations.
